Ligularia dentata is a bold perennial appreciated for its large, rounded, dark green leaves and striking, tall spikes of bright yellow-orange flowers. The lush foliage forms a dramatic clump, providing texture and structure in shaded or partially shaded garden areas, while the tall flower stems add vertical interest and vibrant colour. Its flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, adding ecological value to woodland and moisture-retentive borders.

This hardy perennial thrives in partial shade to full shade and prefers moist, fertile soils. Flowering from mid to late summer, Ligularia dentata is valued for its low-maintenance growth, architectural foliage, and reliability in damp, shady spots. Its combination of ornamental leaves, bright flower spikes, and wildlife-friendly qualities ensures it provides both visual appeal and practical benefits in garden planting schemes.
