Actaea ramosa ‘Carbonella’ is a distinctive perennial prized for its finely divided, dark bronze-purple foliage, which creates a striking contrast in shaded borders. From late summer into early autumn, tall spires of fragrant, fluffy white flowers rise above the foliage, often tinged with soft pink hues. These blooms are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it as valuable for wildlife as it is ornamental.

Thriving in moist, humus-rich soil with partial shade, ‘Carbonella’ is ideally suited to woodland gardens, shaded borders, or damp areas where its dramatic foliage and flowers can stand out. Its tall, upright growth and long flowering period provide architectural structure and late-season interest, while its fragrance and pollinator value enhance its garden presence.
