Aster \’Apollo\’ is a striking perennial cultivar prized for its vibrant deep purple, daisy-like flowers with golden yellow centres that bloom from late summer into autumn. The upright, clump-forming plant features rich green foliage, providing a strong contrast to the vivid blooms and adding structure to borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial beds. Its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and butterflies, supporting pollinators while extending seasonal interest in the garden. Hardy and reliable, \’Apollo\’ thrives in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Regular deadheading encourages prolonged flowering and maintains a neat appearance, making it a dependable choice for adding bold, long-lasting colour to late-season displays.
