Aster ‘Kassel’ is a vibrant perennial cultivar valued for its rich violet-blue, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centres that bloom from late summer into autumn. Its upright, clump-forming habit and dark green foliage provide structure and contrast, making it ideal for borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial beds. The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and butterflies, supporting pollinators while extending seasonal interest when many other plants are fading. Hardy and easy to grow, ‘Kassel’ thrives in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Regular deadheading promotes prolonged flowering and helps maintain a tidy appearance, ensuring long-lasting colour and visual appeal throughout the late-season garden.
