Astilbe ‘Washington’ is a graceful perennial valued for its soft white, feathery flower plumes that rise above a dense mound of deep green foliage. Blooming in mid to late summer, its upright flowers provide delicate vertical accents in shaded borders, woodland gardens, or near water features. The bright white blooms create a striking contrast with darker foliage or more vibrant neighbouring plants, making it a versatile addition to mixed perennial plantings.

Thriving in moist, humus-rich soils, Astilbe ‘Washington’ prefers partial to full shade and performs best when the soil remains consistently damp. Low-maintenance and easy to grow, it benefits from mulching to retain soil moisture and cutting back old stems after flowering. Its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinators, enhancing both ornamental beauty and ecological value in shaded garden areas.
