Digitalis lanata is a hardy, biennial or short-lived perennial valued for its spikes of tubular, pale yellow flowers that bloom from early to mid-summer. The upright flower stems rise above clumps of lance-shaped, dark green foliage, adding height and vertical interest to borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained soil, Digitalis lanata benefits from staking in exposed positions to support its tall flower spikes. Cutting back spent flowers helps maintain a tidy appearance and can encourage additional flowering. Hardy and relatively low-maintenance, this species provides soft summer colour and architectural structure, making it an excellent choice for sunny or lightly shaded borders.
