Gala is a popular English dessert apple variety valued for its sweet, aromatic flavour and attractive, striped fruit. The tree develops a moderately vigorous, spreading habit with healthy green foliage and produces medium sized apples with yellow-orange skin striped with red. The flesh is crisp, juicy and pleasantly sweet, making it ideal for fresh eating and suitable for light culinary use.

In spring, Gala is covered in abundant white blossom that attracts bees and other pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. It thrives in fertile, well drained soil and a sunny position, where fruit can fully develop its flavour and colour. Well suited to UK gardens, Gala combines ornamental appeal, ecological value and a reliable autumn harvest with straightforward care requirements.
