Hosta ‘Fried Bananas’ is a medium-sized, sun-tolerant perennial that adds vibrant golden foliage to gardens. A sport of H. ‘Guacamole’, it features glossy, chartreuse leaves that mature to a rich yellow, intensifying in color when exposed to sunlight. The foliage is wavy and texturally superior to many hosta varieties, forming a dense, upright clump. This cultivar is appreciated for its ornamental value and adaptability to various light conditions.

In mid to late summer, ‘Fried Bananas’ produces tall scapes bearing racemes of fragrant, near-white flowers. These blooms rise above the foliage, adding vertical interest and attracting pollinators. The plant thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial shade to full sun. Its ability to tolerate sun and drought once established makes it a versatile choice for borders, containers, and ground covers.
