Hosta ‘Karin’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial that adds elegance to shaded garden spaces. This cultivar features heart-shaped, dark green leaves with variable cream margins, which may appear yellow early in the season. The leaves are ovate-shaped, slightly cupped at maturity, and have a thick substance, providing a sturdy and attractive foliage display.

In mid-summer, ‘Karin’ produces upright stems bearing lavender-purple flowers that rise above the foliage, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. This hosta thrives in moist, well-drained, organically rich soil and prefers partial to full shade. It is relatively low-maintenance and offers excellent slug resistance due to its thick, textured leaves. ‘Karin’ is a versatile and dependable perennial that adds both visual appeal and ecological value to shaded areas.
