Hosta ‘Tortilla Chip’ is a medium-sized perennial that forms a compact, clump-forming mound of heart-shaped leaves. The leaves are bright golden-yellow, emerging as chartreuse and maturing to a rich golden hue, adding a touch of warmth to shaded garden areas. In mid to late summer, it produces tall spikes bearing pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers that are fragrant and attract pollinators such as hummingbirds. This cultivar thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial shade to full shade, making it a versatile addition to woodland gardens, borders, or containers.

Beyond its visual appeal, Hosta ‘Tortilla Chip’ offers ecological benefits by providing nectar for pollinators. Its dense foliage also helps suppress weeds, reducing the need for chemical interventions. With minimal maintenance requirements, it is a reliable and long-lasting choice for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance yet striking plant for shaded areas.
