Ilex ‘Lawsoniana’ is a prized variety of holly, celebrated for its exceptionally beautiful and colourful foliage. Each leaf has a luminous, golden-yellow splash at its centre, surrounded by a margin of rich, glossy green. A particularly welcome feature is that the leaves are almost entirely spineless, making it much more garden-friendly than other hollies. As an evergreen, it provides this vibrant display all year round, and this well-established young shrub is ready to bring immediate interest to the garden upon planting.

This versatile shrub is perfect for a variety of situations in garden design. Planted as a standalone specimen, it creates a striking focal point, while its dense, bushy habit also makes it ideal for creating a bright, impenetrable, and colourful hedge. ‘Lawsoniana’ is a vigorous grower that will mature into a large shrub or small tree, but it responds very well to regular pruning, allowing its size and shape to be easily managed. For the best results, plant it in a sunny or partially shaded position in moist, well-drained soil.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
