James Grieve is a classic Scottish dessert apple variety prized for its sweet, juicy flavour and versatile use. The tree develops a moderately vigorous, spreading habit with healthy green foliage and produces medium sized apples with yellow skin flushed with red. The flesh is tender, crisp and aromatic, making it ideal for fresh eating, cooking and juicing.

In spring, James Grieve is covered in abundant white blossom that attracts bees and other pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. It thrives in fertile, well drained soil and a sunny position, allowing fruit to fully develop its flavour and colour. Well suited to UK gardens and allotments, James Grieve combines ornamental appeal, ecological value and a reliable summer to autumn harvest.
