Kniphofia ‘Ice Queen’ is a striking perennial known for its cool-toned blooms and bold architectural presence in the garden. Its tall, upright flower spikes are topped with creamy-white buds that open into soft greenish-white tubular flowers, offering a refreshing alternative to the fiery shades more common in the genus. The clumps of slender, grass-like green foliage provide structure throughout the season, while the dramatic flower spikes rise above, creating a bold vertical accent. Its subtle colouring makes it especially effective in pale planting schemes or when contrasted with richly coloured perennials.

This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soils and prefers full sun. Flowering from midsummer into early autumn, ‘Ice Queen’ is valued for its long-lasting blooms, low-maintenance nature, and ability to attract bees and butterflies, adding both ornamental and ecological value to garden spaces. Perfect for mixed borders, statement planting, or naturalistic designs, it offers both elegance and resilience.
