Leucothoe Burning Love is a compact evergreen shrub with bright red stems bearing slender, glossy leaves. In spring, young leaves emerge an attractive crimson red before maturing to dark green in summer. In autumn, the leaves turn a fiery shade of red, providing vibrant colour interest throughout the winter. Clusters of small white flowers appear in spring, lasting into midsummer.

Commonly known as Doghobble or Drooping Laurel, Leucothoe Burning Love has a neat size and shape that makes it perfect for growing in pots and containers. However, it also grows well in beds and borders, complementing flowers and other foliage plants beautifully.

This is a low-maintenance garden shrub that is easy to grow. It is hardy to harsh UK winter temperatures and thrives in acidic, moist but well-draining soil. Use ericaceous compost for growing in pots.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
