Papaver orientale Paradiso is a striking oriental poppy, prized for its large, soft coral-pink blooms with a contrasting dark central blotch. The ruffled petals are carried on strong, upright stems above a clump of coarse, hairy green foliage, creating an elegant yet bold display in early summer borders. Its delicate colour and architectural form make it a standout in cottage gardens, mixed perennial beds, and larger planting schemes where visual impact is desired.

This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position, returning reliably year after year. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, adding ecological value, while the long-lasting flowers provide both ornamental and seasonal interest. Papaver orientale Paradiso combines beauty, resilience, and dramatic colour, making it a dependable choice for summer garden displays.
