Pollia japonica, native to China, Korea, and Japan, is a rare and striking herbaceous perennial perfect for shaded gardens. Its glossy, aspidistra-like foliage creates a lush backdrop, complemented in late summer by elegant white flower racemes that give way to vibrant blue berries.

This stoloniferous plant spreads attractively, forming ground cover in suitable conditions. Hardy to -15C, it thrives in woodland settings or shaded borders, adding texture and year-round interest. A unique addition to any garden, Pollia japonica brings exotic charm and biodiversity to less illuminated spaces.
