Heavy, dense, and soft

There’s nothing worse than flimsy, weak artificial turf. Thankfully, this isn’t something you’ll have to worry about with Preston 40mm. With its thick pile and a dense tuft gauge of 3/8″, you can benefit from a more durable artificial grass ideal for high foot traffic, as well as a lush appearance that never compromises on comfort.

Looking for grass with even more depth? We recommend our Supreme 50mm.

Child- and pet-friendly

Comfort is everything when choosing the best lawn for your property, and this is a quality where Preston 40mm excels. Its dense structure provides cushioning underfoot, and its polyethylene and polypropylene fibres are soft, reducing the risk of scrapes and irritation. This makes it perfect for family homes, play areas, and pets.

Durability you can trust

Preston 40mm’s dense tufting and its mixture of straight and curved micro-nerve fibres mean your lawn can withstand plenty of heavy foot traffic. The C-shaped fibres are designed to bounce back in an instant, so you can enjoy your lawn for years to come.

Installation

Installing your lawn will require different steps depending on the ground surface.

Thankfully, artificial grass is highly versatile and can be installed on decking, gravel, sand, concrete, and soil. Check out our guide on how to lay artificial grassfor in-depth instructions.

Here are a few things to bear in mind to ensure the best results:

1. 2m and 4m widths can be used interchangeably, but 5m cuts can only be used with other 5m cuts.
2. When joining the cuts, take extra care to ensure the pile runs in the same direction. This will create a seamless appearance, ensuring your turf looks lush from every angle.
3. A weed membraneprovides an extra barrier of protection, keeping weeds at bay and stopping them from growing through your lawn.

Maintenance

Maintaining your artificial grass is simple – especially if you’re investing in a high-quality turf like Preston 40mm. All it takes is a weekly spruce-up using a stiff brush and a rake to clear debris, with a hose down to clear more stubborn messes.

If you’re looking for artificial grass best practices, our advice would be to:

• Avoid placing heavy items or objects on your lawn to prevent flattening.
• Clear away any pet messes and hose down as soon as possible to prevent bacteria build-up and stains. (You can also look at our pet-specific grass for backings designed with pet hygiene in mind).

• Avoid having any mirrors pointing directly at your lawn to prevent melting.
