Sedum ‘Herbstfreude’, also known as Hylotelephium ‘Herbstfreude’, is a vigorous, clump-forming perennial celebrated for its fleshy, blue-green leaves and large clusters of rich pink flowers that bloom from late summer into autumn. The upright stems rise above the foliage, creating a bold and architectural display that adds height and colour to borders, rock gardens, and container plantings. Its long-lasting blooms gradually deepen in colour as they mature, providing visual interest well into the cooler months.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this drought-tolerant plant performs well in poor or stony conditions. The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, enhancing the garden’s ecological value. Low-maintenance and hardy, Sedum ‘Herbstfreude’ requires occasional trimming of spent flower heads to maintain neatness and encourage fresh growth. Its combination of striking flowers, textured foliage, and reliability makes it a versatile and attractive choice for a wide range of garden settings.
