Thyme ‘Wine and Roses’ is a decorative culinary herb cultivated primarily for its mild, earthy aroma and the striking contrast between its dark green foliage and pink flowers. This subtle savoury flavour is released when the leaves are lightly crushed or warmed by the sun. It is traditionally used as a landscaping plant that can double as a seasoning for roasted meats, though its value lies mostly in its ability to form a dense, flowering mat that suppresses weeds.

This plant is typically grown as a hardy, creeping evergreen that hugs the ground. It is robust and cold-tolerant, maintaining its foliage year-round. For the best results and the most vibrant bloom colour, plant it in a location with full sun. It is highly drought-tolerant and thrives in poor, fast-draining soil, as it will rot if kept consistently moist.
