Trollius cultorum ‘T. Smith’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial that stands out with its rich, golden-yellow, buttercup-like blooms. These flowers rise above a mound of deeply divided, glossy green foliage, creating a bold and cheerful display in late spring to early summer. With its upright habit and luminous blooms, it is an excellent choice for moist borders, bog gardens, or near water features.

Ecologically, ‘T. Smith’ is attractive to pollinators, particularly bees, due to its abundant, nectar-rich flowers. It thrives in humus-rich, consistently moist soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. The plant is hardy in UK gardens, and deadheading spent flowers can encourage further bloom. Dividing clumps in early spring or autumn helps maintain vigour. Its bright, bold colour makes it a standout for both ornamental and ecological value.
